'SHEER MADNESS IS NEXT GERMAN FILM SERIES OFFERING
Margarethe von Trotta's 1982 "Sheer Madness," an intellectually complex movie that maps the destructive side of heterosexual politics while exploring the relationship of two profoundly enmeshed women, will be screened at 4:20 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, in room 107 of the Diehn Center.
Part of the series "New German Film: Beyond Fascism," von Trotta's work features Olga, a professor of women's literature, who saves Ruth, an artist, from suicide.
The free film will be shown with English subtitles. Heidi Schlipphacke, assistant professor of foreign languages and literatures, will provide a short introduction.
