LADY MONARCHS BEAT GEORGIA, ADVANCE TO SECOND ROUND
The Old Dominion University Lady Monarchs beat the Georgia Bulldogs 68-54 to advance to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The Lady Monarchs will play the second seeded Purdue at 7:06 p.m. Monday, March 18, in West Lafayette, Ind.
With 24 points and 10 rebounds, Lucienne Berthieu was named most valuable player.
This was only the second meeting in the tournament between Old Dominion and Georgia . The Lady Monarchs defeated Georgia in the 1985 NCAA championship game.
