HEALTH SCIENCES RESEARCH DAY TODAY

Old Dominion University's College of Health Sciences will hold its annual Research Day Wednesday, March 20 in the Hampton/Newport News Room of Webb University Center.

Poster presentations on such topics as solid waste, measurements of success, unhealthy lifestyles, HIV/AIDS and privatizing public health will be on display from 4-5 p.m.

At 5 p.m. Terry Blumenthal of Wake Forest University's Department of Psychology will deliver a lecture titled, "Why Do I feel Better: Medicine, Placebo or Spontaneous Remission?"

The event will conclude with oral presentations of six faculty research projects, beginning at 6 p.m. Topics include managerial focus, community health partnerships, pediatric health and the Internet, diabetes, model-based diagnostics and safety's effect on success.
