DIVERSITY WORKSHOP AND CELEBRATION IS APRIL 6

Old Dominion University's SPEAK '02, a series of workshops and a diversity celebration sponsored by the offices of Student Activities and Leadership and Multicultural Student Services, will be held from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, April 6, in Webb University Center.

Students Promoting Education Action and Knowledge (SPEAK), geared toward student leaders, is designed to promote diversity on campus. Workshops will deal with topics including the role of language in forming stereotypes; diverse groups in American society; and the development of multicultural competence.

A cultural celebration will follow these workshops from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. The free event will highlight the dance, music and food of different cultures. The workshops are open to all Old Dominion students. The culture celebration is open to the public.
