DEADLINES APPROACHING FOR TWO FACULTY AWARDS

Nominations are due soon for two of the university's newest faculty honors, the Armada Hoffler Weekend College Teaching Award and the Provost's Award for Leadership in International Education.

The Provost's Award, established last year, recognizes a faculty member who has played a significant role in developing an international curriculum or an active linkage with an international partner, served on international advisory bodies or collaborated with international colleagues in significant research and publication, or directed a significant externally funded project to internationalize the Old Dominion experience. Nominees must have had at least three years of continuous service as a full- or part-time faculty member.

The winner will be invited to make a presentation at an international recognition luncheon in the spring and receive a $1,000 award.

Nominations must be submitted to John P. Broderick, acting associate vice president for academic affairs, by the college dean, with the endorsement by the nominee's department or school chair, by Friday, March 1.

Established in 1999, the Armada Hoffler Award recognizes teaching excellence and dedication to teaching-related service in a course or program offered through Weekend College. The recipient will receive $1,000 to use toward continued development and enhancement of a weekend course. Nominations are due Tuesday, March 5, to Mary Beth Lakin, director of Weekend College, 137 Gornto Center.
