NAVY ROTC COMMANDER APPEARS ON C-SPAN

Capt. Vernon Huber, commanding officer of the Hampton Roads Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps Unit (NROTC) headquartered at Old Dominion University, was the guest on C-SPAN's morning call-in program last Saturday. On the program, which is hosted by USA Today reporter George Hager, Huber talked about ROTC and its role in the military and responded to viewer comments and questions.

A Navy veteran of over 25 years, Huber assumed leadership of the NROTC program last summer. The Hampton Roads consortium includes NROTC programs at Old Dominion, Norfolk State and Hampton universities.

During his career, Huber has received the Legion of Merit, Defense Superior Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.

C-SPAN is viewed by an estimated 22 million people each week.
