WOMEN'S CENTER ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION BEGINS TODAY

At age 25, Old Dominion University's Women's Center is one of the oldest centers of its kind in the U.S. and the oldest in Virginia. Its purpose is to help women with issues they face in daily life, as well as in the workplace, be it sexual harassment or assault, gender inequality, reproductive freedom, eating disorders or self-esteem.

In celebration of the center's golden anniversary, the center will offer a series of programs in November.

� Tuesday, Nov. 6 � "Women and Education" with a keynote address by President Roseann Runte followed by a reception; 12:30-2 p.m., Hampton Room, Webb Center.
� Sunday, Nov. 11 � "A Musical Romp Through Women's History" with award-winning musician, historian and storyteller Gerri Gribi; 7 p.m., 104 Batten Arts and Letters Building.
� Monday, Nov. 12 � "Following a Dream: Gerri Gribi Shares Her Journey as an Independent Scholar and Musician," noon-1 p.m., Cape Charles Room, Webb Center.
� Tuesday, Nov. 13 � "These Healing Hands," a performance by Old Dominion's Speech Chorus; 12:30-1:30 p.m., Cape Charles Room, Webb Center.
