FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY FORUM TO LOOK AT "IMPACT OF THE COMPUTER REVOLUTION"

Two Old Dominion scholars from different disciplines will give presentations on the "Impact of the Computer Revolution" for the Friends of the Library Fall Forum Sunday, Nov. 18.

The free program begins at 3 p.m. in room 151 of Perry Library.

Clovia Hamilton, the university's new director of intellectual property and research compliance, will discuss the legal issues that face the academic community, and Stephen Medvic, assistant professor of political science, will look at the effects of computer technology on the electoral process.

Hamilton earned her law degree from John Marshall Law School and is a master of law candidate in the intellectual property law program at the University of Illinois. She came to Old Dominion July 1 after serving as an attorney in UI's Office of Technology Management.

Medvic teaches courses on campaigns and elections, political parties, and media and politics. He recently published a book titled "Political Consultants in U.S. Congressional Elections" (Ohio State University Press). Medvic holds a doctorate in political science from Purdue University.
