SYMPOSIUM WILL ADDRESS "EVOLUTION IN GOVERNMENT BUSINESS"
"Evolution in Government Business," a symposium for policy makers and operations personnel from government and industry, will be held Wednesday, Nov. 7, at the Norfolk Waterside Marriott Hotel.
Co-sponsored by Old Dominion University's Center for Continuing Engineering Education (C2E2), the Tidewater Association of Service Contractors (TASC) and the Tidewater Government Industry Council (TGIC), the symposium will address real-world challenges of the business environment of the 21st century. It will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and costs $175. The exhibitor's fee, which includes two individual registrations, is $400.
Presentations include:
- "e-Business: A Federal Perspective," Sean O'Keefe, deputy director, Office of Management and Budget;
- "Political Landscape," Virginia Delegate Edward L. Schrock;
- "Defense Procurement Policy Innovations," Melissa Rider, electronic business directorate, Department of Defense
Procurement;
- "e-Commerce Initiatives," Christine Stelloh-Garner, Navy acquisition reform executive.
Kevin Coleman, pioneer of Compete-21.com and former chief strategist for Netscape, will deliver the luncheon
address, "Global Perspectives: e-Government Worldwide."
The symposium will also feature two interactive panel discussions on "Workforce Development" and "The Future of Government e-Business."
