SUNDAY LECTURE WILL ADDRESS "THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AL-ISLAM AND TERRORISM"

The Old Dominion University Muslim Student Association and the Al-Haqq Islamic Da'wah Center will present "The Differences Between Al-Islam and Terrorism," from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4 in room 102 of the Mills Godwin Jr. Life Sciences Building.

The program will define the differences between Allah's Qur'an and the Prophet Muhammad's Authentic Sunnah, and use them to show that terrorism is an unacceptable practice in Islam. A question and answer session will follow.

Imam Abu Abaad Abdul Muta Kabir, a "student of knowledge" will be the guest speaker. In the Islamic religion, a student of knowledge is a person who has studied with Islamic scholars and mastered the Arabic language. Kabir is also the Imam of Masjid ul-Ghurubaa, in Norfolk, where he leads five prayers a day and teaches classes on Arabic and the principles of Islam.

The lecture costs $10 per person, or $7 with a student I.D. It will also be broadcast live on WPCE 1400 AM.
