PRESIDENT OF SIEMENS AUTOMOTIVE TO TALK WITH STUDENTS AS NEXT "EXECUTIVE IN RESIDENCE"
John Sanderson, president and chief executive officer of Siemens Automotive, will be the next speaker for Old Dominion University's Landmark Executive-in-Residence Speaker Series Tuesday, Oct. 23.
Sponsored by the College of Business and Public Administration, the series brings accomplished business leaders to campus to share firsthand experience with students. Sanderson will speak at 12:30 p.m. in room 136 of the Diehn Fine and Performing Arts Center. Seating is on a first-come, first- served basis.
As president and CEO, Sanderson guides the U.S. activities of Siemens, a global supplier of automotive electronics and electrical systems. Company sales figures for the 1998-99 fiscal year totaled $3.6 billion.
Prior to his current position, Sanderson served as vice president and general manager of Siemen's Automotive Powertrain Gasoline Systems Division. He has also served as vice president and account executive for Ford Motor Co. and led the General Motors worldwide sales team.
Sanderson earned his bachelor's degree and M.B.A. from Old Dominion.
Vanessa Flynn, president of KBM Management Inc., will be the next speaker for the series on Nov. 6.
