'WENDY WALK' WILL BENEFIT HABITAT FOR HUMANITY
Registrations are now being accepted for the Saturday, Oct. 6, for the second annual "Wendy Walk," a 3K
event scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on campus to benefit Habitat for Humanity.
Named in honor of Wendy Larry, Old Dominion's women's basketball coach and a board member of the South
Hampton Roads Habitat for Humanity Inc., the walk encourages participation by both individuals and teams.
The goal is for each individual to raise $100, and all walk participants are required to pay a $10 registration
fee. Proceeds will support the organization's mission to build new homes for low-income working families.
Prizes will be awarded to the three teams or individuals that raise the most money. This overall goal for this
year's event is $100,000.
Walkers will be invited to a celebration with Coach Larry and the Lady Monarchs following the event, which will
feature food, drinks, entertainment and an auction.
To register call 625-1281 or visit the Web site wendywalk.org.
