POST-INAUGURAL HOMECOMING PARADE SET FOR OCT. 13 ON HAMPTON BOULEVARD

As an end to Old Dominion University's Homecoming and Inauguration festivities there will be a parade on campus at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 13.

The parade is one of many festivities honoring President Roseann Runte, who will be inaugurated Thursday, Oct. 11, as the institution's seventh president.

The parade route will start on Elkhorn Avenue, travel east on 49th Street, north on Bluestone Avenue, east on Bolling Avenue, and then south on Hampton Boulevard to 43rd Street. The southbound lanes of Hampton Boulevard will be closed temporarily for the parade; the northbound lanes will be converted for two-way traffic during this time.

Sponsored by the Student Activities Council's Homecoming Committee, participation is not limited to Old Dominion affiliated organizations; student organizations and local businesses will take part. Community groups that would like to participate should call Nicole Kiger of the Student Activities Council, 683-3446, by Oct. 3.
