OLD DOMINION FLAG LOWERED TO HALF-STAFF IN HONOR OF BOARD MEMBER JOHN P. COUSINS
John P. "Jack" Cousins, a newly appointed member of Old Dominion University's Board of Visitors, died yesterday.
Appointed by Gov. James Gilmore to the board in July, Cousins was a class "A" general contractor and had 26 years' experience in the construction industry. He was the owner of Cousins Construction Co. Inc./Cousins Industries in Portsmouth.
Cousins studied political science at Old Dominion and commercial art at the Ringling School of Art. He was appointed to the Board of Contractors in 1998 and was a member of the Virginia Beach Republican City Committee.
