LOCAL BLOOD DRIVES TO HELP VICTIMS OF TERRORIST ATTACKS

The American Red Cross has organized several local blood drives to help the victims of Tuesday's terrorist attacks in New York and Washington. Members of the Old Dominion University community who wish to donate can do so at the following locations:

Wednesday, Sept. 12 Pembroke Mall, noon - 6 p.m.;
Thursday, Sept. 13 Hampton Coliseum, noon - 6 p.m.;
Friday, Sept. 14 Norfolk Scope, noon - 6 p.m.; and
Saturday, Sept. 15 Chesapeake General Hospital, noon - 6 p.m.

Financial contributions can be made by calling 446-7743.

The Red Cross has activated its Aviation Incident Response (AIR) Team to respond in New York City, and trained disaster workers are providing relief in New York and Washington. Blood donations in inventory are ready to ship to the affected areas and donations will be needed to replenish the nation's supply.
