HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH BEGINS SEPT. 15

A month of cultural events begins Saturday, Sept. 15, in observance of Hispanic Heritage Month at Old Dominion University. For more information, call 683-4406.

15 Hispanic Heritage Month Kickoff, keynote speaker David Lamb, author of "Do Platanos Go Wit' Collard Greens?", 7-9 p.m., Hampton/Newport News Rooms, Webb University Center.

17 Scholarships and Fellowships, presenters Debbie Martinez, Robert Sepulveda and Patsy Campbell of NASA Langley Research Center, 7-9 p.m., Suffolk Room, Webb University Center.

18 Hispanic/Latin American Cultural Connections Reception, 2-6 p.m., Elizabeth River Beach (rain site: Canterbury Center). RSVP: 683-4406.
