AFRICAN-AMERICAN WELLNESS IS TOPIC OF SEPT. 10 EVENT

The authors of "Prime Time: The African-American Woman's Complete Guide to Midlife Health and Wellness" will be at Old Dominion University at 7 p.m. Sept. 10 for a book signing in the North Cafeteria of Webb University Center.

The authors - Dr. Marilyn Hughes Gaston, a former assistant U.S. surgeon general, and Gayle K. Porter, a clinical psychologist and senior mental health adviser for the American Institutes for Research � will speak for about 30 minutes, take questions from the audience and sign copies of their book.

Jacket notes for the book indicate that 7 million African-American women are middle-aged. The book addresses their total health needs, including preventative medicine, menopause, wellness planning, navigating the health care system, managing stress and depression, and defusing anger and attitude.
