COVEY CONFERENCE TO BE BROADCAST TODAY
Stephen R. Covey, author of "The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People," will address a group live via satellite from 10:45 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8 at the Norfolk Waterside Marriott.
The Norfolk event, which is being hosted by Old Dominion University's Darden College of Education Programs for Continued Learning and the Center for Global Business and Executive Education, is part of Covey's "Lessons in Leadership" series and is being broadcast to 45 cities across the United States.
More than 12 million copies of Covey's book have been sold in 75 countries and it has been translated into 32 languages since it was published 10 years ago. He is vice chairman of the board of Franklin Covey Co., the largest management and leadership development organization in the world.
Covey has received many honors, including the Thomas More College Medallion for continuing service to humanity; the 1994 International Entrepreneur of the Year Award; Inc. magazine's Services Entrepreneur of the Year Award; the 1996 National Entrepreneur of the Year Lifetime Achievement Award for Entrepreneurial Leadership; and the Sikh's 1998 International Man of Peace Award. Time magazine named him one of America's 25 most influential people.
