ACADEMIC ALL-AMERICAN DRAFTED BY BREWERS

Old Dominion University third baseman Jeff Eure (Pillow, Pa.) has been selected to the third team Verizon/CoSIDA Academic All-American squad. Eure has a 3.97 grade point average in health and physical education.

He also was drafted in the 18th round by the Milwaukee Brewers as a catcher.

Eure led the Monarchs with seven homeruns and 40 runs batted in. He scored 43 times and had nine doubles. The junior hit .271 and started all 56 games at third base. As a sophomore, he hit .331 with eight homers and 60 runs batted in. Through three years, Eure has 19 career homers and 126 career runs batted.

Eure becomes the seventh Monarch baseball player to earn Academic All-American honors.
