RATTLESNAKE EXPERT ON 'WITH GOOD REASON' MONDAY
An Old Dominion University faculty member will be a guest Monday on the radio program "With Good Reason."
Alan Savitzky, associate professor of biological sciences at Old Dominion, will be featured on the program, which airs at 1:30 p.m. Monday on WHRV-FM (89.5). He will discuss his studies of canebrake rattlesnakes, dwindling numbers of which are a harbinger of the demise of important forest wetlands, Savitzky says. The species is tied to America's colonial past; the snake's likeness graced the "Don't Tread on Me" flag of the revoluntionary era.
The weekly show is hosted by Sarah McConnell and highlights the expertise of Virginia's college and university faculty. For complete program listings, check out the With Good Reason website at http://www.virginia.edu/vfh/wgr.
