LADY MONARCH TENNIS HOSTS NCAAS FOR FIRST TIME
For the first time in the program's history, the Old Dominion women's tennis team will host an NCAA regional event May 12-13.
The Lady Monarchs will host 10th-seeded Southern California, UMBC and South Alabama in NCAA collegiate tennis action at the Old Dominion Tennis Complex.
The match-ups will feature Old Dominion vs. South Alabama and Southern California vs. Maryland-Baltimore County on Saturday, May 12. The winners will meet on Sunday, May 13. Game times have yet to be determined.
The Lady Monarchs, ranked #37 in the latest ITA WingspanBank.com tennis rankings, are currently 21-1. The team earned an automatic berth into the NCAA tournament by winning the Colonial Athletic Association championship two weeks ago and is led by fifth-ranked freshman Nataly Cahana (Qiriat Bialik, Israel) and #97 junior Ana Radeljevic (Zagreb, Croatia).
In addition to the Lady Monarch team entry, Old Dominion will be represented in the 64-player singles field by both Cahana and Radeljevic.
