CENTER FOR ADVANCED ENGINEERING ENVIRONMENTS TO HOST TRAINING WORKSHOP MAY 30-31

Old Dominion University's College of Engineering and Technology's Center for Advanced Engineering Environments will host a training workshop on Nondeterministric Approaches and their Potential for Future Aerospace Systems Wednesday and Thursday, May 30-31. The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held at NASA Langley Research Center's H.J.E. Reid Conference Center in Hampton.

Aimed at engineers seeking new technologies with high potential for solving complex problems with system uncertainties, the workshop will provide a broad overview of the methodologies for managing uncertainties, as well as reliability and risk assessments. In addition to overview presentations by leading experts in the field, exhibits of available software systems are planned.

Featured lectures for the two-day workshop include "Methodology for the Estimation of Uncertainty and Error in Computational Simulation," "Overview of Probabilistic Risk Assessment at NASA: Past, Present and Future," "Applications of Nondeterministic Methods on Vehicle Conceptual Design," "An Overview of the Robust Design Computational System: A Collection of Tools to Enable Low Risk Designs" and "Advances in the Assessment of Availability and Reliability of Repairable Aerospace Systems."
