THE CAPITOL STEPS PERFORM AT OLD DOMINION APRIL 5

The Washington, D.C.-based musical political satire group The Capitol Steps will perform at Old Dominion University for the President's Lecture Series at 8 p.m. Thursday, April 5. The free performance will be at the Field House, located between Powhatan and Parker avenues.

The Capitol Steps is a troupe of current and former Congressional staffers who monitor events and personalities on Capitol Hill, in the Oval Office and in other centers of power around the world and then turn the latest news into song and parody.

Politicians from President George W. Bush to Bill Clinton to Ross Perot have become the victims of the group's musical wit.
The ensemble tours throughout the United States, performing nearly 400 shows a year, including a regular weekend gig in Washington, D.C.

The Capitol Steps have released 20 albums. Among them are "First Lady and the Tramp" (1999), "Unzippin' My Doodah" (1998), "Sixteen Scandals" (1997) and "Return to Center (1996).

Their most recent recording, "It's Not Over 'Til the First Lady Sings," includes songs titled "Livin' Libido Loca" and "Won't You Go Home, Bill Bradley?"

Admission is free and open to the public, but seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information call 683-3116.
