PARENTS' DESTRUCTIVE PERSONALITY TRAITS DISCUSSED DURING MARCH 27 LECTURE

Nina Brown, a professor in the Department of Educational Leadership and Counseling at Old Dominion University, will discuss "Recognizing a Destructive Narcissistic Pattern" from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, in the parenting center in room 246 of the Child Study Center, 45th Street and Hampton Boulevard.

Brown, author of the new book "Children of the Self-Absorbed: A Grown-Up's Guide to Getting Over Narcissistic Parents," has studied the pattern for six years. It is characterized by parents' inappropriate focus on and preoccupation with their own needs and desires, she said.

The lecture is part of the Darden College of Education Professorial Lecture Series and is sponsored by the Office of the Dean and Faculty Governance.

The lecture is free and open to the public. For more information, call 683-6497.
