OXFORD UNIVERSITY PRESS JOURNALS NOW AVAILABLE TO VIVA LIBRARIES
The Virtual Library of Virginia (VIVA) recently announced a licensing agreement with the Oxford University Press, the world's largest university press, which will give students and faculty at public Virginia colleges and universities online access to 111 periodical titles in the fields of humanities, sciences and social sciences. Another 50 electronic titles are expected to be available before the end of 2001.
From the Oxford Press Online Journal page, users can select from any of 26 subject fields or any particular periodical titles. By subscribing to the system's "Content Alerting" feature, users can regularly receive an e-mailed table of contents for any Oxford Press periodical.
VIVA, which is sponsored by the State Council of Higher Education, is the consortium of the libraries of 29 state-assisted colleges and universities in Virginia.
