EXPERTS TO DISCUSS HAMPTON ROADS MOSQUITO PROBLEM

Deborah Waller, associate professor of biological sciences at Old Dominion University, and local health officials will discuss mosquito control issues in Hampton Roads from 4-7 p.m. Saturday, March 24, in room 200 of the Oceanography and Physics Building.

Waller, an expert on insect ecology, will discuss mosquito biology and ecological considerations of spraying. Alpha Diallo of the Norfolk Department of Public Health will explain how mosquitoes spread disease in southeastern Virginia. Agnes Flemming of Norfolk Mosquito Control will discuss larvicides and the killing of adult mosquitoes by fogging and spraying.

The event is being hosted by Old Dominion's Biology Graduate Student Organization. For more information, call 683-4203.
