CHROME WINS AWARDS FOR FIFTH CONSECUTIVE YEAR

For the fifth consecutive year, the Cooperating Hampton Roads Organization for Minorities in Engineering (CHROME) swept the Quality Education for Minorities/Mathematics, Science and Engineering Awards, presented Feb. 3 at the National Conference of QEM/MSE Network in Washington, D.C.

In addition to receiving awards for high school teachers and students, CHROME was selected as a recipient of the Exemplary MSE Partnership Award, which recognizes partnerships that contribute to the achievements of minorities in science, mathematics and engineering.

Based on the Old Dominion campus, CHROME works to increase the number of opportunities for underrepresented minority and female students to enter science, mathematics, engineering and related technical fields.
