OLD DOMINION FIELD HOCKEY PLAYER ELECTED TO VIRGINIA HALL OF FAME
Yogi Hightower Boothe, a field hockey star at Old Dominion and a U.S. Olympian, has been elected to the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame.
Boothe played a key role in Old Dominion's rise as a national power in field hockey in the 1980s. She was a two-time All-American and in 1982 led the Lady Monarchs to a 20-1 record and the first of the school's eight national titles. She was the first Old Dominion player to receive the Honda Award as the nation's top player. After graduation, she was an alternate on the 1984 U.S.Olympic team and a starter on the 1988 team.
