VICE CHAIRMAN OF SUNRISE ASSISTED LIVING WILL SPEAK TODAY

David W. Faeder, vice president of Sunrise Assisted Living, will give a free talk as part of the Old Dominion University College of Business and Public Administration's Landmark Executive-in-Residence Speaker Series Thursday, Feb. 22.

The lecture, which is open to the public, will be held at 12:30 p.m. in room 136 of the Diehn Fine and Performing Arts Center. Prior to the public talk, Faeder will meet with a small group of students for an informal question-and-answer session.

The Landmark Executive-in-Residence program is designed to provide students an opportunity to learn firsthand the strategies and experiences of great leaders by bringing accomplished businessmen and women to campus to share their history and vision. The series is funded by a group of former Landmark executives in honor of Frank Batten Sr., chairman of the executive committee of the Landmark board.

Faeder joined Sunrise Assisted Living in 1993 as chief financial officer and became vice chairman last year. The company provides alternatives to nursing homes and operates about 150 facilities in 23 states, and one in the United Kingdom.

Before working at his current company, Faeder was vice president at First Boston Corp. and vice president at Morgan Stanley Co. He earned a bachelor's degree in business from Old Dominion in 1978 and a master's of business administration degree from the University of Virginia in 1984.

A certified public accountant who holds real estate licenses in several states, Faeder serves on the boards of IBS Interactive and CyberCFO, and is a member of the Dinner Club LLC in Washington, D.C.

Other speakers in the Landmark Executive-in-Residence series include: Deborah K. Stearns, president of Advantis GVA, March 1; and Wallace G. Haislip, chief financial officer and treasurer of Scientific Atlantic Inc., April 3.
