UNIVERSITY GALLERY "WILL" CELEBRATE WITH RECEPTION SATURDAY

The Old Dominion University Gallery will hold an opening reception for "Will," a painting exhibition of works exploring compulsion, at 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20.

The exhibition runs Jan. 13 through Feb. 4 and features paintings by three Old Dominion alumni, Federico Correa and Scott Denham, both of Norfolk, and Jon Eicher of New York City, as well as Scott Anderson of Hartford, Ind.; Mary Anne Baird of Norfolk; Brian Bishop of Durham, N.C.; Carol Ann Carter of Lawrence, Kan.; Kevin Cole of Atlanta; Carol Griffith of Columbus, Ohio; and Moritz Kellerman of Chicago.

Carter and Cole are considered to be among the hottest talents in their field.

A panel discussion with all the artists will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, at the gallery. Ron Snapp, an Old Dominion painting instructor, will host the discussion.

Other upcoming exhibits at the University Gallery include:
� Feb. 17-March 11: "Deaf Maggie Lee Sayer: Photographs of a River Life," an exhibition of photographs compiled by Tom Rankin of Duke University's Center for Documentary Studies.
� March 24-April 15: "The Immigrant Project," a one-person, mixed-media installation by Roberly Bell.
� April 21-29: Senior Student Shows
� May 11-17: Exhibition of Works by Visual Arts Students in the Governor's School for the Arts
� June 6-10: Exhibition of Work by Student LaShawn Davis

All events are free and open to the public. The University Gallery is located at 350 W. 21st St. in Ghent and is open noon to 3 p.m. Monday-Thursday; noon to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday; and 1-4 p.m. Sunday. For more information call 683-2355.
