CAA EXPANSION TO BE ADDRESSED AT NEWS CONFERENCE TODAY
Old Dominion University President James V. Koch and athletic coaching staff members will give comments and answer questions related to the Colonial Athletic Association's expected expansion at a 3 p.m. news conference today in the Board of Visitors Room in Webb University Center.
The University of Delaware, Hofstra University (Hempstead, N.Y.), Drexel University (Philadelphia) and Towson University (near Baltimore) are expected to join the CAA for the 2003-04 academic year, expanding it to 10 teams. The four newcomers are all currently members of the America East Conference.
Old Dominion has been a member of the CAA conference since the 1991-92 season. Earlier it was announced that the University of Richmond, East Carolina University and American University, all current members of the CAA, would be moving to other conferences.
