SENATE RECOGNIZES TWO NEW GROUPS; TRADITIONS COUNCIL CREATED
Student Body President Mike Arendall signed Student Senate legislation Nov. 3 granting official university recognition to two new student groups: the Pakistan Student Organization and the Former Soviet Union Student Association. Each group is classified as a special-interest organization at the university.
On Oct. 26, Arendall issued an executive order creating a Traditions Council, which will work to develop traditions for the university, promote current traditions and enhance student participation at athletic events. Arendall has indicated that he plans to send legislation to the Student Senate to permanently establish the Traditions Council.
