NEW YORK TIMES INTERNET REPORTER TO SPEAK AT ECONOMICS CLUB LUNCHEON DEC. 5

New York Times Internet reporter Bob Tedeschi, author of the weekly "E-Commerce Report" column, will speak at Old Dominion University's Economics Club of Hampton Roads luncheon Tuesday, Dec. 5.

Co-sponsored by Old Dominion's College of Business and Public Administration, the luncheon will begin at noon at the Sheraton Waterside Hotel in downtown Norfolk. Due to limited space, reservations are required. The cost of the luncheon is $30 for nonmembers.

Tedeschi began covering e-commerce for The New York Times in 1998. In addition to his weekly column, he writes a monthly column on technology trends from the Times' travel section and has contributed reports to Wired magazine, among other national and international publications.

In 1999, Tedeschi was named one of the 50 best, most important and most influential journalists on the Internet by Newstation.com and, this year, one of the 10 most influential technology journalists by Marketing Computers, a trade publication.

A graduate of the Columbia University journalism school, Tedeschi has covered the social and political changes wrought by communism's collapse in the former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe, and reported on business and telecommunications for The Connecticut Post, where he won two feature writing awards from the Connecticut Society of Professional Journalists. He has also worked as a freelance journalist and taught journalism, writing and literature at the college level.
