ANNUAL MADRIGAL BANQUETS TO BE HELD DEC. 1-3

In celebration of the upcoming holiday season, the music department presents the 26th annual Madrigal Banquets Friday through Sunday, Dec. 1-3, in the atrium of the Diehn Fine and Performing Arts Center.

This year's banquets, which begin at 6:30 each evening, feature music based on the rich folk-song and carol traditions of Scandinavia. Under the direction of Lee Teply, the university Madrigal Singers and Collegium Musicum, performing on historically accurate instruments, will provide the choral and instrumental entertainment.

The banquet menu includes chicken caraway, mushrooms and cream sauce, and plum pudding for dessert.

Tickets for the evening, including entertainment and dinner, are $25 for general admission and $15 for students. Tickets can be purchased by credit card at the Athletic Ticket Office, 683-4444, and are on sale (cash or check only) in the music department, room 244 of the Diehn Center.
