NATIONAL CABLE NETWORK C-SPAN ON CAMPUS FOR PRESIDENT'S LECTURE SERIES
For those who didn't have an opportunity to hear award-winning author Ernest Gaines' talk for Thursday's President's Lecture Series, national cable network C-SPAN will air the speech on an upcoming date to be announced.
A crew from the network was on hand last night to film Gaines' talk to a packed Mills Godwin Jr. Building Auditorium. The coverage marks the third time in recent years that C-SPAN has visited the Old Dominion University campus. The network provided coverage of commencement speakers Sam Donaldson in 1999 and Bill Cosby in 1998.
Known for providing live gavel-to-gavel proceedings of the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate, C-SPAN is viewed by an estimated 22 million people each week.
