OLD DOMINION PROJECT RECOGNIZED BY U.S. DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY
A high-performance computing project involving Old Dominion University was recognized recently in a U.S. Department of Energy publication about its Accelerated Strategic Computing Initiative.
The project is a collaboration between investigators in Old Dominion's Departments of Computer Science and Mathematics and Statistics and the Institute for Computer Applications in Science and Engineering at the NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton.
Guidance was provided by modelers at the Center for Applied Scientific Computing at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and in X-Division at the Los Alamos National Laboratory. The Old Dominion project was recognized alongside others from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, as well as Northwestern, Ohio State, Princeton and Rice universities.
