INDIA FEST 2000 AT WEBB CENTER SEPT. 9
India Fest 2000, a celebration of culture, food, art and handicrafts from India, will be held from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, in Webb University Center.
The event is being organized by Asian-Indians of Hampton Roads and co-sponsored by the World Affairs Council of Greater Hampton Roads and the Multicultural Alliance of Virginia.
Opening ceremonies will begin at 2 p.m. in the North Cafeteria. Booths featuring henna painting, books, music, handicrafts, costumes, jewelry, art and food from India will be showcased. Additionally, cultural programs throughout the day will include classical, folk and modern dance, a sitar and tabla recital and a fashion show.
