COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING TO HONOR MAJOR DONORS
The College of Engineering and Technology will host a "Wall of Honor" event Friday, Sept. 8, to recognize major donors who have made contributions to the college.
The Wall of Honor, which lists the names of the donors, and a portrait of Lolly Cohen, the deceased wife of a donor, will be unveiled during the program, which is scheduled for 6-8 p.m. in Kaufman Hall. A reception will be held from 6-6:45 p.m.
Cohen, who died in 1994, was an environmentalist who was also active in promoting technical education. In 1996, her husband, Myron J. Cohen, gave a piece of property he owned at 26th Street and Hampton Boulevard, now know as the Kitchentown Building, to Old Dominion for use by the College of Engineering and Technology. The Kaufman Hall atrium was formally named in memory of Lolly Cohen during a ceremony on Oct. 10, 1997.
