COACH CHRISTINE ACCETTELLA TO COMPETE IN SAILING WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

Christine Accettella, assistant sailing coach at Old Dominion University, will sail in the Gaastra J22 Worlds 2000 Championships after winning the Baltimore Sail for Sight Regatta. The Championships begin Aug. 23 in Medemblik, Netherlands.

Accettella, a 1994 graduate and All-American collegiate sailor at Old Dominion, is crewing for co-captains Pete Wallio (ODU '56) and Dave Alexander on the 22-foot-long sailboat.

As an undergraduate, Accettella was a part of a second place finish in B-division at the 1991 ICYRA Women's Collegiate National Championships. She is beginning her third year as an assistant coach at Old Dominion.
