OLD DOMINION PROFESSORS ON 'WITH GOOD REASON' JUNE 26

Two Old Dominion University faculty members will discuss the movie industry and historical accuracy Monday, June 26, on the radio program "With Good Reason."

Gary Edgerton, professor of communication and theatre arts, and Craig Cameron, associate professor of history, will be the guests on the show, which airs at 1:30 p.m. Monday on WHRV-FM (89.5).

Edgerton and Cameron will discuss the summer box office hit "U-571," the story of a crew of U.S. Navy sailors who capture a code machine from a Nazi submarine. The real capture was made by British sailors, not Americans, and the movie so angered British officials that they sent a resolution to Washington complaining about it.

The two professors will also discuss how World War II movies have supplanted Vietnam films, in part, because baby boomers are making these movies in homage to the generation which actually served. Films are often reflections of the generation that produces them, Edgertons said.

The weekly show is hosted by Sarah McConnell and highlights the expertise of Virginia's college and university faculty. For complete program listings, check out the With Good Reason website at http://www.virginia.edu/vfh/wgr.
