CENTER FOR LEARNING TECHNOLOGY SEMINAR IS JUNE 12-16

Jo Ann Gora, Old Dominion University provost and vice president for academic affairs, will open the five-day Center for Learning Technologies' 2000 Summer Institute at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 12, in Webb University Center's Cape Charles Room.

The primary goal of the institute, which continues through Friday, June 16, is to establish a communication network of faculty who are interested in sharing their expertise and experiences in the incorporation of technology into their course designs.

Topics will include lessons learned from instructors working in online courses as well as hybrid models and updates on classrooms and other news that may affect instructors. Seminars and workshops will focus on various web-based tools, such as building course web pages and delivering presentations using Real Presenter

At 9 a.m. Tuesday, June 13, Vice President Jim McLaughlin, vice president for distance learning, will give a keynote on "The Future of Distance Learning: Positioning Old Dominion."

This event will offer more than 15 different activities, including a technology fair, workshops, seminars, forums and a panel discussion.

Registration for the Institute is requested, but not required. However, for workshops we have a limited number of seats available and reservations are on a first come, first served basis. Signup sheets will available at the introductory session on Monday, June, 12th.
