CHRONICLE OF HIGHER EDUCATION FEATURES Q&A WITH PRESIDENT KOCH

In an article called "Logging In," Chronicle of Higher Education reporter Dan Carnavale talks with Old Dominion President James V. Koch about the barriers affecting the growth of distance learning in the United States. The article can be found in the Information Technology section of this week's Chronicle of Higher Education.

While several states have indicated they don't want Old Dominion to beam its TELETECHNET courses across their borders because they fear competition and loss of jobs, Koch contends that their fears are unfounded. In the near future, Koch believes there will be reform in how the country's higher education institutions deliver distance learning programs across state boundaries.

The story can be found on page A58 of the Chronicle's May 19 issue.
