MURRAY RUDISILL NAMED CAA COACH OF THE YEAR
Old Dominion golf coach Murray Rudisill was named CAA Coach of the Year for the second straight year, while freshman Geoff Harris (Reading, England) earned CAA Rookie of the Year honors as voted by the CAA coaches.
Monarch sophomore Michael Hospodar (Ontario, Canada) earned first-team All-CAA honors.
Rudisill, a professor of educational curriculum and instruction, earned his fifth coaching honor in 25 years at the helm of the Old Dominion program. In addition to his two CAA coaching titles, he was Sun Belt Coach of the Year twice and Virginia Coach of the Year once.
The Monarch golf team, ranked 49th in the nation by GolfStat through the first weekend in April, finished eighth or better in nine of its first 11 events of the 1999-2000 season, including a trio of second-place performances at the William and Mary Invitational, Coastal Carolina Classic and Old Dominion University/Seascape Classic.
