LIZ GILES CHOSEN FOR APTA'S MINORITY FACULTY DEVELOPMENT SCHOLARSHIP

Elizabeth F. Giles, director of clinical education in the physical therapy program, has been selected to receive the 2000 American Physical Therapy Association's Minority Faculty Development Scholarship Award.

This prestigious national award is voted on by the APTA board of directors and presented annually to one minority physical therapy faculty member to provide doctoral education support; acknowledge superior achievements in the areas of professional leadership, research and presentations; and recognize contributions in the area of minority affairs and services within the physical therapy profession.

The honor includes a $6,000 scholarship.

Giles, who earned her master's degree from Old Dominion in 1991 and is currently a doctoral student here in urban services, will be honored June 15 in Indianapolis at Physical Therapy 2000: The Annual Conference and Exposition of the APTA.
