GREEK SCULPTURE IS TOPIC OF APRIL 12 LECTURE

Carol Mattusch, Mathy Professor of Art History at George Mason University, will discuss "Searching for the Greek Bronze Original: Arts and Techne in the Classical Period" at 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, in the Mills Godwin Jr. Life Sciences Building Auditorium at Old Dominion University.

Mattusch is one of the world's top authorities on Greek and Roman bronzes and has written extensively on the production techniques and cultural significance of bronze sculptures in classical antiquity.

Her lecture offers a look at the techniques and aesthetics of bronze and ways to "read" sculpture.

The lecture, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by the Hellenic Cultural Studies Program at Old Dominion. For more information, call 683-3942.
