SECRET LIVES OF QUILLWORTS DISCUSSED MARCH 30 AT OLD DOMINION UNIVERSITY

Carl Taylor of the botany department of the Milwaukee Public Museum will discuss "The Promiscuous Quillworts: The Sordid Evolutionary History of Isoetes" at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, March 30, in Room 102 of the Mills Godwin Jr. Life Sciences Building.

Taylor's research is focused on the evolutionary history of Isoetes species using DNA analysis. Isoetes is an easily overlooked, taxonomically confused genus of fern that produces both male and female reproductive cells.

The lecture is part of the Old Dominion Department of Biology Seminar Series.
