OPERA SNIPPETS MARCH 11 AT CHRYSLER MUSEUM
The Old Dominion University Department of Music is presenting portions of Claudio Monteverdi's "L'Orfeo" in the Huber Court of the Chrysler Museum of Art this Saturday, March 11, at 2 p.m.
This performance is given in connection with the museum's current exhibit of "Ancient Gold Jewelry." The leading roles will be sung by music professor Frank Ward and Elizabeth Hogue, who joined the Old Dominion library last year as humanities reference librarian.
They will be joined by the Old Dominion Madrigal Singers, Collegium Musicum and several period instrument specialists.
A brief tour of the exhibit will begin in Huber Court at 1 p.m. There is no charge for the performance or the tour, but there is an admission fee for entrance to the museum.
