SATURDAY PARADE TO BE THE HIGHLIGHT OF HOMECOMING CELEBRATION
Old Dominion University's Student Senate-sponsored homecoming celebration, "Better Than Ever: Pride 2000," will continue Friday and Saturday with a parade around campus at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 12.
A variety of activities are scheduled, most of which are free. On Friday, Feb. 11, the Fraternity Council will sponsor a "Tailgate Party" from 2-7:30 p.m. outside the Field House. During that time, a William and Mary "car bashing" will be held at 3 p.m. near the Field House. At 7:30 p.m., the Lady Monarchs will play William and Mary in a basketball game at the Field House. Tickets may be purchased at the Athletic Ticket Office. It is free for Old Dominion students with ID. Following the game, the Student Activities Council will sponsor a "Spirit Fire" at 9:30 p.m. at the Elizabeth River Beach.
On Saturday, Feb. 12, the homecoming parade will get underway at 10 a.m. The one-mile march around the campus will feature a variety of floats, bands and fire trucks.
Also on Saturday the men's basketball team will play William and Mary at 2 p.m. in the Field House. Old Dominion students are admitted free with ID; additional tickets may be purchased at the Athletic Ticket Office.
