----FOR FEB. 11--------FULL SLATE OF BLACK HISTORY MONTH EVENTS THIS WEEKEND AT OLD DOMINION

The Miss Ebony Old Dominion University Pageant, part of the university's observance of Black History Month, will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 11, in Mills Godwin Jr. Life Sciences Building Room 102.

Distinguished African-American females will compete for the Miss Ebony Old Dominion University crown and scholarship. The event is sponsored by the Black Student Alliance.

In other events:

*A tribute to black scientists and inventors in engineering, science, communications, health care, agricultural transportation and manufacturing will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 11, in the North Mall of Webb Center. It is sponsored by the Fellowship of Minority Engineers and Scientists.

*A showing of the movie "Soul Food," accompanied by a soul food dinner, will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday in Canterbury Center. It is sponsored by the Black Student Alliance, Student Senate and Circle K Order.

*Homecoming events Saturday, Feb. 13, include a parade at 10 a.m. on Hampton Boulevard, "mocktails" at 7 p.m. in the Field House with university alumni and a dance at 9 p.m. in the Athletic Administration Gym.

*"Seeds of Revolution," a presentation by Old Dominion students of African descent or ancestry, will be at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13 and Feb. 27. Presenters will discuss famous slave revolts and the impact the revolts had on their family history and ancestry. The event will be in the Virginia Beach Room of Webb Center and is sponsored by Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc., the United Cultural Association and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc.
