BLACK HISTORY MONTH CONTINUES FEB. 9 WITH POETS' READINGS, AFFIRMATIVE ACTION DISCUSSION

A panel discussion, "Affirmative Action: Qualification or Quota?", will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, in the Portsmouth/Virginia Beach Room in Webb University Center.

Panelists will include Old Dominion University professors, law students, College Republicans and members of the Hampton Roads community. The event, part of the university's observance of Black History Month, is sponsored by the NAACP and Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Office.

Published and unpublished poets from Old Dominion University will interpret poems on the African-American experience at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Portsmouth/Virginia Beach Room of Webb Center. The event is sponsored by the Old Dominion Forensics Team, Multicultural Student Services and the English Department.
